My new FTM YOUTUBE Channel! [19 Apr 2011|08:52pm]

im ryan, and im ftm! yah

i just wanted to post about my new youtube channel, where im trying to set up a place for people to talk about ftm everyday issues. Ive set up a few videos already and am open to ideas to make new videos. one of the more important reasons for doing this was because i felt that the lgbt community has a way of excluding queer people of color, and being hispanic myself, i identify with this feeling. i havent seen much out there based on these issues and thought maybe this could be a place for some of that to be spoken about.

well heres the channel check it out!

For those of you tying the knot. [15 Apr 2011|07:33pm]

I am not sure this violates the community rules (checked them, didn't look like it), so if the moderators feel that this isn't appropriate for this community please feel free to delete it. I just wanted to share this deal that I am running through ethical deal right now. It's usually distributed through email, but I thought 'the more, the merrier'! :)

It's for an engagement session and 50% off wedding photography. To me it goes without saying but for the sake of pointing it out: I believe everyone should be able to love whom they want and to marry whom they love. So, check it out here. Thanks for looking!

born to love [11 Feb 2011|03:30pm]

The sun almost sets and I get this weird feeling like I was losing my mind,
I just cant stop thinking about Marie. She's at another place and I miss
her terribly. I keep telling her how much I love her and she said the same,
but I cant figure out if its just friendship or she too is falling for me.
But sometimes I think or I just want to think that she's sending me
signals; you know body languages and stuff. I still remember when I was 13
and she was 14 and we are young and still in high school where uncertainty
becomes everyone's issue, it was a very hot sunny afternoon of august when
I first heard the words other people say to the people they really care
about, I love you was being shouted at the whole school in front of many
people and that really makes me think twice.

After 8 years of being courted by men, we are still single and some kind of
don't want to be in a commitment. Sometimes we cant help ourselves well
even in public, we are still close, I mean really close like holding each
other while ordering food, make sweet gestures when every eye is looking,
well I don't care as long as I'm happy. Since then there has been an
unanswered question between us, we don't need to say it coz we can feel it,
but there is still a problem.

Call For Fearless Athletes

For the last 5 years, Jeff Sheng has been photographing athletes on high school, college and university varsity sports teams who also openly identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans for a project called Fearless.

Thanks to a grant by the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation in Vancouver and efforts by the GayWhistler's PRIDE House in partnership with Qmunity in Vancouver, Fearless is coming to Canada. Jeff Sheng will be in Vancouver and Whistler photographing for the project November 19 to 22. They are currently looking for volunteers to participate in the project, specifically out LGBT athletes who play sports on high school, college or university varsity teams, or who are training full-time as high performance athletes.

If you are (or know of) an LGBT athlete who is not out, they are also collecting anonymous stories/testimonials as to why athletes are not able to be out in their sport.

The Canadian version of Fearless will be exhibited at the first ever Pride House during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Whistler and Vancouver.
For more information on the project and how you get involved please contact Ken Coolen at 778-834-3536.

attn: queers! [18 Jul 2009|04:25pm]

i'm just shouting out to any queer youth/young adults out there going to pride in Vancouver. i'm jack, an 18-year-old FTM transguy and i'm going to pride from the first until the second, and hopefully longer. if you wanna hang out during the parade/after the parade then shout me out. :) it would be neat to meet other FTMs out there...i live on vancouver island but i'll be making frequent trips over to Van this summer, so even if you're not going to pride - which you should be!!! - shout me out. you can just comment here, i'll probably PM you asking for e-mails and such. thanks!

I need to find an organization in BC that advances the rights of intersexed persons. My intent to build bridges between intersexed and transgendered activists. Failing that, I would like to find one elsewhere in Canada - or heck, even in Washington.

Any recommendations?

Volunteering for Vancouver Pride! [08 Jul 2009|09:54am]
 Hey everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that It's not too late to sign up to volunteer for Vancouver Pride 2009; we are still accepting volunteers for a few events, including the Pride Parade and Festival, August 2nd. I wanted to make sure the word gets out to everyone in the community, so that no one misses the chance to be a part of this.

Sign up sooner than later to get the shifts you want; last year we filled up fast and we anticipate the same to happen for this year. Just this week we implemented a new system where you sign up, get your very own login, and then from there you can sign up for the exact events, shifts, and positions you want... immediately! Absolutely no waiting to be scheduled. You can then view your shifts online any time, instead of waiting for an email.

You can either go to www.vancouverpride.ca and look for the volunteer page, or take this shortcut:

Just click on "I would like to volunteer for this organization" and take it from there!

Remember, ANYONE can volunteer. You don't have to be GLBTQ, etc, etc. I get that question a lot  =)

Looking to start a meet up [19 May 2009|02:17pm]

[ mood | creative ]

I am currently looking to find or start a meet up of partners, allies, family of transgendered/ questioning/ genderqueer/ two spirited people. Or if you are trans yourself thats great too. Pretty much this this group will be pretty open to who comes.
I have found groups at centers to go to but I am looking to something that is casual and a place for people to come and meet friends talk anything play games whatever we feel like doing.

Now details:
Meet up from Vancouver, BC or surrounding areas if you can come
I would like to arrange something if people are interested maybe once or twice a month.
Meet coffee places go for lunch have a picnic anything anywhere

Mainly I just want this to be a safe place we can come meet new people and talk about things we all may be experiencing and have fun.
If this sounds like something you will be interested in let me know comment, private message me, and we can look into starting something up.

Xposted numerous places sorry if you get this more then once.
